China and Yangtze River

June 10 (or 13, see modified trip) -26, 2010

Join this compatable dance group on an exciting, informative visit to China at an outstanding reasonable price. This fabulous trip begins with 2 days in Shanghai followed by an 8 day trip on the Yangtze River cruise, being lifted up the Three Gorges Dam, visiting Nanjing, Huangshan, Wuhan, Yichang and the Three Gorges Dam, the beautiful Lesser Gorges, Fengdu, and disembarking at Chongquing.

We will fly to Xian to see the Terracotta Warriors Museum and then on to Beijing where we will visit the Great Wall of China and Tianamen Square, tour the Imperial ("Forbidden") Palace. Then it's on to the old part of the town -the Hutongs - where families still live in a communal setting. Here we will meet a local family who will invite us into their home and serve their home made lunch to us. Following that we will have an exciting cyclo ride through the maze of the Hutong streets. The ship and all hotels are five star rated.

We hope to arrange to meet, visit and dance with some local folk dance groups in the major China cities.

Visas will be required.

Mel Mann has been wanting to lead a trip to China for many years and this is the fruition of his dream. Since the completion of the Three Gorges Dam most Yangtze cruises are only three or four days in duration . Mel has arranged a custom China trip that includes a unique eight day, seven night cruise of the Yangtze River. All this, plus seven days visitng many of the major sights and cities in China.

Prices for the cruise, stayovers, tours, flights to Xian and Beijing begin at $2,699 per person — see the rate page.

NOTE: The deposit is $500 per person and you may go to the "Making Reservations" page on this site for forms.
